I was down in Biloxi this weekend for the WPT event there. I drew a table with Carlos Mortensen, Nick Shulman and a kid named Chase Steely. I guess this is my first blog entry of 2010. I brought in the New Year with some friends at a really cool bar called Rogue Tavern on Birmingham's north side. A few days later I headed out to San Diego with Adam Geyer to hang out for a few days. I really fell in love with that city despite only getting to see the Pacific Beach area. I've been back in Birmingham the last couple of weeks. It's been a really nice time as I've gotten to spend some time with my family and friends. Pretty tough day. I battled uphill the whole time. I quickly got down to around 55,000 at the end of the first level. I climbed back to like 65,000 at the end of level 2, and 80k at the end of level 3 before getting moved to a new table and taking 60k into the final level. I'm on to day 2 of the $15,000 WPT Five Diamond with 84,075 in chips. The average is in the neighborhood of 80k.

The day was just kind of whatever. I was at a table with John Monnette, Kathy Liebert, Tyler "tnetter" Netters, Cornell Cimpan, Steven Fung, Justin Young and Dani "ansky" Stern (whom I thought played spectacularly). I took what was given to me and didn't really play too big of a pot all day.

It was a work infested weekend. I decided to sort of detox this weekend and just stick around Tuscaloosa and play the FTOPS series all weekend. Alabama football was 90 miles west in Starkville, Mississippi playing Mississippi State, but I decided against going. Going to Austin, TX

It's fall break at The University of Alabama. I'm in the terminal in Birmingham headed to Austin, Texas to hang out with my buddy Adam Geyer. It's early Friday morning, and as I write this I'm one of the few people in the Birmingham airport. I'm en route to Williamsburg, VA where my mom currently lives. 6 Weeks of School Complete, WCOOP $10k HORSE, Fantasy

Earlier tonight I completed the classes that wrapped up six weeks of classes. The semester is flying by nicely thanks in large part to football season being here. I had my first two tests this week. I have no idea how I did. A lot of these upper level classes unfortunately require a lot of textbook reading in order to be really successful. Hi all. Thanks for reading. I know I'm not updating much. Since I last posted I've enjoyed two football weekends. I was over in Atlanta for Bama vs Virginia Tech. Bama won that one in a very exciting game, 34-24. This past weekend we beat a scrappy Florida International team 40-14.

Three Weeks of School Complete, Bama vs VT this Weekend

I blinked and all of a sudden three weeks of school are complete. Things are going ok. The classes are bearable. All of these Management classes require a bunch of group work, so I've joined teams in all 5 of my classes. Usually this group work is pretty annoying, but what can you do? Well, my trip to Los Angeles was a quick one. My showing, or lack of, in the $10,000 WPT event was pretty disappointing. I failed to get anything going at all. It is amazing to me how many times I've busted day 1's in WPTs.
