The last week or so in Vegas has been a good time. We've done a lot of vegging and attended some sporting events. The NBA Summer league was in town and we make an appearance every year. This year we watched probably 30 hours of basketball over 4 days and had a really good time betting everything against each other. We also went to see that movie "Bruno" which was pretty lame, and we attended the Las Vegas 51's Triple A baseball game on Friday night. We also went indoor skydiving at this place near our condo which was a pretty cool experience.

Aside from that we decided to try some of the Vietnamese and Thai food that's in Chinatown on Spring Mountain and we're hooked. I think we've had 3 or 4 different meals there in the last few days.

It was really nice to actually have some time to relax out here for a week after grinding, grinding and grinding some more tournaments all summer long. That said, I woke up around 2:30 p.m. yesterday and still decided to play what remained of the Sunday online tournament schedule. It turned out to be a quality Sunday as I found a second place finish in Full Tilt's turbo 100 rebuy for like $26,000, a small cash in the Stars' $200 rebuy, and finally an 8th place finish in Stars' $500 tournament for $10,500 or something. It adds some more cash to the small win that I'd booked this summer, and it'll make leaving Vegas a little easier. Also congrats to my buddy Justin Young for outright winning the FTP Sunday Brawl yesterday.

I'm out of WPT Bellagio Cup in the final level of the night. I had 42000 left of the 60000 starting stack when the bustout hand came up. A megafish limped for 600, another fish limped, and I isolated these two guys' limps like I had all day and raised to 3000 from the cutoff with two Jacks. The guy in the SB raised to 10,000. I thought and went with the hand and was snapped off by Aces and missed. The guy was atleast somewhat of a thinking player, and I'd waited all day for him to reraise one of my iso's, so I'm chalking it up to a cooler.

The summer of poker is over for me, and obviously it really fucking sucks. I happened to turn a pretty insignificant profit on the summer, but I will go home thinking what could have been. I may or may not drive my Tahoe across the country tomorrow, may fly out tomorrow, may stick around for a day or so, or may stick around for a week. I have things I need to get done for school, so I'll play it by ear.

I likely won't play another live tournament until December as school will have me busy all fall. It's actually somewhat of a relief for the summer to be over. I played a ton this summer and sort of fell into the WSOP cycle that is neglecting your health and living one-dimensionally. Thanks to those of you who followed and supported me this summer. It means a lot to me.

I busted the 3rd Bellagio $5000 event sometime in the third level. I had fallen down to 10,300 in chips despite having an amazing table draw. The bustout hand from this tournament is one of those that comes up like one out of every 100 tournaments that just leaves you speechless while walking to valet.

A bad Japanese player opened UTG to 600 at 1/200 and I found AcAd in MP and elected to raise to 1700. The player quickly called when action returned to him. Flop 9c3h2c. Guy checked, I bet 2300 and he called, leaving me just 6300 in the pot of 8300. The turn was the Qc and the guy quickly tossed out two 5000 dollar chips that covered my stack. I quickly called, turned up my hand, and was shown KQhh for the no hand no draw out of position call on the flop. The river was an offsuit Queen and it actually took about 10 seconds before I could pull myself out of my chair.

After the bustout my friend Jesse and I went to check out the NBA Summer League down at Thomas and Mack center. Later we met up with the guys and watched the UFC fights closed circuit at MGM before finally heading out for a long night of partying. I woke up today at 2:30 p.m. and we returned to the NBA Summer League for 5 hours of basketball.
