I did exactly what I wanted to do today. I am probably amongst the top 15 chipleaders from the 860 remaining from day 1c. I played extremely tight for the first few hours. I got a decent starting table that included Chris Bigler and Carl "Colson10" Olson. There were 2 other guys who could play, and the rest were quite weak. I hung around 10-16k for the first 6 hours. Right after dinner though, I exploded to 50k. There were 3 key hands with JJ, QQ, and AA. On the AA hand, a player who was visibly pissed at me for opening lots of pots, managed to get 5k in the middle pre with 68o. I opened UTG for 625 and he raised to 4700 in the SB, leaving himself 300 behind. I announced all-in of course, and he called and I held. There were many other key pots throughout the 12 hour session, but I don't feel like typing them. I was up as high as 125,000 and was the tournament leader. I would've been the overall chipleader of the WSOP through all the day 1s, but I lost a devastating 100,000 pot with AQ vs KK on a Q82 rainbow. The hand played out really funny, and I went into the tank for about 7 minutes before finally calling 34k more from the player (he just called pre in the BB). Nonetheless, I'm very happy with my results. I should be amongst the top 60 players when there are 3600 left total after tomorrow, which is about as good as you can ask for. I don't play again until Wednesday. Tomorrow will be a lazy day. Housemates that played today: Worldsgrtest: Out Nate: Out Jon: Out Adam: On to day 2 with 19k

Today was very lazy for me. I woke up around 2:45 p.m. and decided to just lounge around the hotel room. I ordered some spaghetti from room service and watched Caddyshack on Spike TV. For dinner, Adam, JP, JP's friend Philip and some of Philip's friends all went out. We went to a great steak restaurant called Morton's. I must say this place put Ruth's Chris to shame. It was one of the best steaks I've ever had. Of course, I lose the flip though and have to fork up the $500. Oh well :) After that we went back to MGM and I had to quickly get in a cab in time to make it back to our house in Henderson. Unfortunately, MGM doesn't get FSN, so I had to go to the house to watch The Aussie Millions. The cab line was like 200 people long, so I hopped in a limo and reluctantly forked out an outrageous $150 for a 20 minute ride. The Aussie Millions didn't have any coverage of me except for a very distant shot of me in the background of some bonus coverage. There are 24 players left on the episode, and I don't get back to the feature table until 12 remain. I expect that most of my hands will be on TV from that point on. As far as WSOP goes, the biggest news from our house so far is that Cody "thugmoneymakr" Slaubaugh is amongst the day 1b tournament leaders with over $56.5k in chips when I talked to him on the phone 2 minutes ago. Also, a friend of mine from The University of Alabama, Rob Berryman, has 17k, which is right around the average. The players just ended level 5 and have one more level to play tonight. Hopefully Rob and Cody will finish strong. JP Painter limped into day 2 with 10,300 in chips last night. Housemates: JP: On to Day 2a (Tuesday) Cody: Currently 56.5k Mike "worldsgrtest": Plays tomorrow Jon: Plays tomorrow Adam: Plays tomorrow Nate: Plays tomorrow Tommy: Out day 1a Mike "NUTZREALBIG": Out day1b Mats: Out day 1b Aussie J: Out day 1b Donny: Out day 1b Dave: Not playing I have a good feeling about tomorrow. As I've said, I'm peaking at just the right time. I'm just really hoping I don't get super colddecked or take a horrific beat. I don't plan on putting a bunch of money in unless I have the stones, because most of the players should be very very weak, and there's no reason to play big pots with them. Bluffing will be almost non-existent as far as I'm concerned. I'm asking that no one call me tomorrow during the tournament. Please text msg me instead for chip count updates. Wish me luck... SS

Once again, I spent the day playing the $1k at Bellagio, and once again I cashed. I finished 19th this time for a profit of $2500. There was a record field of 447 entrants in this one. I grinded the shortstack from 80 players on. I felt like I played it as well as it possibly could've been played. I never had more than 6 big blinds until the hand before I busted. This is just what I needed before the main event on Sunday. Tomorrow I plan on taking the day off. I'll probably just hang out at MGM and maybe hit the pool, relax and get a massage. I have a good feeling about the main event. I play on day 1c (Sunday), and my seat assignment is table 137, seat 2. As far as how today went for my friends in the main event, I only know that BBOUJA and itsthemaster_ played. BBOUJA busted early, but itsthemaster_ had half the average stack with one level (2 hours) to go when I spoke with him 20 minutes ago on the phone. Also, a congratulations is in order for Aussie J. He just missed final tabling the 7 pm tournament last night at Bellagio, finishing 10th for $2500ish. Check out this interesting update I read on cardplayer.com: "Minh Nguyen Blinded Off Minh Nguyen is eliminated from the tournament after his chips were blinded off. He has still not arrived at the Rio." This is incredibly interesting because Minh was playing and still in the Bellagio tournament when I busted in 19th. I can only imagine that he was confused and thought he played a different day. You would think he has enough contacts that someone would get a hold of him and let him know. The same thing happened to Jennifer "Jennicide" Leigh, but she got a phone call around 5 pm informing her that she was playing today. SS
